One of my top favorite things to do is fish and one of my favorite things to eat is tacos. What better than to combine my two favorite things and make fish tacos?!
INGREDIENTS
Cajun blend spice
Traeger Veggie Rub
Lime Juice
Pepper
Tortillas
Shredded Cheese
Trout (any kind)
La Victoria Green Taco Sauce
Green Tobasco Sauce...If you want to add some spice!
Your favorite taco toppings such as cheese, sour cream, avocado, etc.
DIRECTIONS
Step 1:
Filet your fish and remove the skin.
Tip: Trout have a strip of loose bone that I like to cut out.
Step 2:
Melt about 1 tbsp of butter in a large skillet. While the butter is melting, season the fish with cajun spice and pepper.
Optional: If you prefer onions, you can dice some up and sauté them in the butter.
Step 3:
Place the fish fillets in the pan and brown each side. Cook for about 3 minutes on each side.
Step 4:
Break the fish into small pieces. Add the lime juice; just squeeze a little over the fish in the skillet.
Step 5:
In a separate pan, melt a small dab of butter and get it sizzling. Place one tortilla shell at a time in the pan and brown just a little on each side.
Step 6:
Build your taco! Place the tortilla shell on a plate, add your fish, an additional squirt of lime juice (if preferred), and add toppings such as La Victoria Green Taco Sauce or Tobasco for spice and then sprinkle with the shredded cheese, lettuce, sour cream, avocado and any of your favorite toppings.
There you have it...a very simple fish taco recipe! I’ve made this recipe with trout, yellowtail snapper, cod, tilapia, and rockfish and all have turned out delicious!
